British bus producer Alexander Dennis, a subsidiary of NFI Group, has obtained an order from Transport for Higher Manchester for an extra 50 zero-emission double-deck buses, doubling the company’s preliminary order. The Manchester bus fleet, which has been franchised to Go-Forward Group and dubbed Bee Community, will now embrace 100 NFI autos.
These further 50 British-built electrical buses will enter service in components of Bury, Rochdale and Oldham when the second tranche of franchising launches there in April 2024.
